Managing Director

Rev. Todd Edwin Maberry is the Managing Director of the Ormond Center at Duke Divinity School. In this role, he manages day-to-day operations of all Ormond’s programs and processes and leads the strategic growth of the Academy of Teaching, Training, and Learning. Todd also leads the process that strategically integrates theology with practice among Duke Divinity School’s Thriving Communities Fellows. This cohort of diverse residential M.Div. students, from across the United States and several different countries are thinking innovatively and dynamically about the role of the church in communities in their local context.

Todd is an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church with a proven track record for missional innovation, including planting a missional house church here in Durham. Prior to joining the Ormond Center, Todd ably served Duke Divinity School as senior director of admissions, recruitment, and student finance from 2015 to 2023. In this role, he helped lead the school through record enrollments and challenging crosswinds in theological education. Previously, Todd served as Duke Divinity School’s registrar for five years. Following this assignment, for about three years, he served as the Community Pastor at United Methodist Church of the Resurrection Downtown, Kansas City Missouri. Currently, Todd is completing his Ph.D. in higher education leadership, focusing on academy-community participatory research and other qualitative research methodologies. His deep knowledge of Duke and Duke Divinity School, alongside his expertise in pastoral ministry, missional innovation, and higher education leadership, positions him well to help deliver the Ormond Center’s mission.
