Environmental & Climate Justice Agent

Ray'Chel Wilson is a dedicated advocate for social justice and economic empowerment. Representing both Toledo, Ohio and Tulsa, Oklahoma, she pursues a hybrid Master of Divinity at Duke Divinity School to delve into the intersection of faith, stewardship, and economic thriving.

With a passion for practical application, Ray'Chel's academic journey has been enriched by certificates in Religious Fundraising, Behavioral Economics, and Baptist Studies. Her goal is to leverage these diverse perspectives to inform community development, organizational health, and policy initiatives, with a particular focus on bridging wealth gaps within marginalized groups.

Her passion for empowering individuals and communities was ignited during her time as an educator and Teach for America AmeriCorps member. Ray’Chel’s interest in engineering environments of thriving & justice led to her interest in the Ormond Center and the Church & Community Student Agent of Thriving: Environmental & Climate Justice role.

As a student entrepreneur, Ray'Chel serves as an ambassador for Duke Innovation & Entrepreneurship, inspiring others to embrace an entrepreneurial mindset and develop solutions that drive positive change.

After graduation from Duke Divinity School, Ray’Chel is open to exploring opportunities in academic research and continuing entrepreneurial innovation in her passion projects. As a Board of Trustee within her local context, Ray’Chel is also keen to consult with religious organizations to support their development and stewardship efforts. Her ultimate goal is to contribute to the well-being of individuals and institutions through her expertise in stewardship and operational excellence.

In her free time, Ray'Chel enjoys staying active and exploring the outdoors through roller-skating, nature hikes, and road trips in her hybrid vehicle.
